The Idol 2009 Finalist Rules and Regulations

1. The Idol 2009 final will held on July 22,2009, from 7pm-11pm, at MPH (INTI-UC).
2. There are a total of 10 individuals’ finalist and 3 groups’ finalist.
3. Punctuality is to be observed at all time.
4. Participants are given 5 minutes to present each song.
5. All contestants are free to choose their own English songs.
6. Participants are required to look for the karaoke version of the songs.
7. All songs should not contain any offensive words.
8. Contestants are allowed to change their music key.
9. Musical instruments are allowed in the final night.
10. PA coordinator of The Idol 2009 is NOT responsible for any form of song editing.
11. Contestant is responsible for the quality of the songs in any aspect.
12. All songs must be in .mp3 or .wma format ONLY.
13. Each song must be in a single file. Two (2) or more songs must NOT be combined as a single file.
14. Each song must be named correctly: (contestant number) (song order) (song name). For example: cont 1 song1 Love Story.
15. All songs must be ready in a Compact Disc (CD).
16. Name of contestant and songs must be written on the CD label itself.
17. All songs must be submitted directly to The Idol 2009 PA coordinator ONLY latest by 16 July 2009, Thursday.
18. The Idol 2009 Organizing Chairperson, Vice Organizing Chairperson, and PA coordinator reserve the right to reject any song submission later than 16 July 2009.

Individual
First round - TWO Sections
• 1st section-each person present one song.
• 2nd section-each pair of contestant presents one song. (antiphonal singing)
(Finalist can choose their own partner from the 10 finalist)
Final round - 3persons qualify into this round
• PK tournament
• Each person sings one song.

Group
Final round - TWO Sections
• 1st section-each group presents one light/slow song with performance.
• 2nd section-each group presents one hard/fast song with performance.

19. Contestants must be properly dressed.
20. Image and attire are considered in the judging.
21. Special stage charisma or interesting stage presence is always needed throughout the whole competition.

22. The Idol 2009 finalists are NOT allowed to quit the respective activities unless there are valid reasons.
23. Contestants who qualified in final are required to attend the singing training, MTV shooting, rehearsal etc which decided by committees board.
• Singing training- every thursday (25/6/09, 2/7/09, 9/7/09, 16/7/09)
• Rehearsal- 20/7/2009
• Photo shooting
• MTV shooting
24. Smoking and alcohol consumption is prohibited at all time.
25. All rules and regulations are subjected to change without prior notice.
26. Decisions by judge are final.
27. Any information must confirm with The Idol 2009 committees.
28. All rules and regulations mentioned above are to be observed at all time. Failing to do so will lead to the disqualification of the participant.
29. The Idol 2009 Organizing Chairperson, Vice Organizing Chairperson, and PA coordinator reserve the right to revise the Rules and Regulation at any time without prior notice.
